On January 30, Samsung Electronics announced the global rollout of its 13-inch color e-paper display, sized at A4 format.

Powered by digital ink technology, the Samsung Color E-Paper Display boasts drastically lower power consumption compared to conventional digital signage and consumes no electricity at all when the screen content remains static. Following the launch of the 32-inch QHD (2560×1440) model last year, Samsung Electronics has now introduced the 13-inch variant, further expanding its product lineup.
Boasting a resolution of 1600 x 1200 and a 4:3 aspect ratio, the display measures just 8.6mm at its thinnest point and weighs 0.9kg with the battery included, making it highly portable and easy to install. It comes as standard with a rechargeable and detachable battery, a stand and a ceiling mount, enabling flexible deployment on walls, ceilings, desktops and other surfaces for a wide range of commercial scenarios.
The Samsung Color E-Paper Display is the world’s first e-paper product to adopt bio-resin derived from floating vegetable oil. Samsung Electronics stated, “This material cuts carbon emissions during production by more than 40% compared to traditional petroleum-based plastics.” In addition, over half of the materials used in the product’s casing consist of recycled plastics and bio-resin.

The display also delivers enhanced content readability and operational convenience. It features an upgraded color imaging algorithm for improved color reproduction and supports content management and device control via a dedicated mobile app. Leveraging Samsung VXT, the company’s signage operation solution, users can achieve unified management with existing signage systems, while also accessing picture quality adjustment and color preview functions optimized specifically for e-paper displays.
Samsung Electronics announced that it will unveil its new 20-inch A3-sized color e-paper display for the first time at ISE 2026, the European Commercial Display Show, to be held in Barcelona, Spain, next month.
