The 2N7422 is a type of transistor, and one of its main functions is signal amplification. It can amplify weak input signals, which is based on its current gain () characteristic. For example, in an audio amplification circuit, when a weak audio signal is input to the base of the 2N7422, through the control effect of the base-emitter current on the collector-emitter current, the signal is amplified according to the current gain multiple. When a high-level signal is input to the base and reaches a certain threshold voltage, the transistor conducts, forming a low-resistance path between the collector and the emitter, just like a closed switch, allowing current to pass through and thus turning on the circuit parts connected to it (such as lighting up a light-emitting diode or driving a small motor). Conversely, when a low-level signal is input to the base, the transistor is cut off, and the path between the collector and the emitter is equivalent to an open circuit, just like an open switch, preventing current from passing through, thus playing a role in circuit isolation and controlling the on-off of the circuit.
