Power Switching
• Voltage Range: It operates within a supply voltage range of 2.5V to 5.5V, making it suitable for various applications with different voltage requirements.
• Output Current: It can provide an output current of up to 2A, which is sufficient for powering a wide range of loads.
• On-resistance: The maximum on-resistance is 110mΩ, which helps to reduce power losses during conduction and improve the efficiency of the power supply system.
Current Limiting
• Programmable Threshold: The current-limit threshold is programmable between 275mA and 2.7A (typical) via an external resistor, providing flexibility to meet different load current requirements.
• High Accuracy: At higher current-limit settings, the ILIMIT accuracy can be as tight as ±6%, ensuring precise control of the output current and protecting the circuit from overcurrent damage.
Protection and Control
• Overcurrent Protection: When the load attempts to draw current exceeding the programmed ILIMIT, the internal FET enters constant current mode to keep the load current at or below ILIMIT. After the built-in de-glitch time, the fault output will assert low during overcurrent conditions, enabling the system to take appropriate protection actions.
• Surge Suppression: The rise and fall times of the power switch are controlled to minimize current surges during turn-on and turn-off, reducing electromagnetic interference and potential damage to the circuit.
